Maybe: The best way to diagnose arthritis is with an xray examination. Joint pain with associated stiffness and loss of range of motion can be suggestive of arthritis. See your physician if you have concerns about arthritis.

Yes: For instance, if you joint is swollen you have arthritic by definition. An x ray would be helpful in establishing the severity of the involvement.
