A member asked:

I got the implanon removed out of my arm on jan 28 , on march 4th i had a light pink period and the next day it was red then it stop is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes it is normal: Implanon is a hormone-releasing birth control implant for use by women to prevent pregnancy for up to 3 years. The implant is a flexible plastic rod about the size of a matchstick that contains a progestin hormone called etonogestrel. After removal it is not unusual to see periods slowly returning to normal as the uterine lining restores itself to the natural rhythm.
