Iron absorption: I doubt that you can't absorb iron. Meat and vitamin c are two things that enhance the iron absorption from your diet. There is an intravenous iron that raises your iron levels quickly, but it's mostly for people who can't tolerate iron pills. I think some doctors overuse this; has to do with reimbursements from insurances for office infusions.
