It could be an infection, it could be a retained tampon or condom, or it could just be hygiene (especially in very large women wearing tight undergarments or clothing). A common bacterial cause is bacterial vaginosis, which is treated with Flagyl (oral or Metrogel vaginal cream) and sometimes Cleocin (clindamycin phosphate) vaginal suppositories.
