How long does eustachian tube dysfunction last?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: This is common after an episode of otitis media and can persist up to 3 months. However, there are people who live with it constantly and may need intervention such as placing an ear tube. Decongestants have not been shown to help but gentle ear popping can. Studies are looking into whether medicines like Flonase (an intranasal steroid) help or not.
