How does the sun affect skin?

DNA damage: Prolonged sun exposure, especially during midday hours, can cause dna damage to cells in the skin. This results in photoaging and can eventually lead to the development of skin cancer.

Sun: Great question! sun does many things to the skin--very few of them positive. The most well-known and studied effects are degradation (breakdown) of the collagen in the skin leading to aging and wrinkles and the ultraviolet radiation that promotes skin cancer. You will stay younger-looking longer and reduce risk of skin cancer by avoiding the sun.
