Likely not serious: Often abdominal pain is reported following orgasm and is thought to be related to spasm of the diaphragm muscle that occurs with final phase of orgasm driven by the sympathetic nervous system. This same sympathetic nervous system signaling causes expulsion of secretions. When people hold their breath as orgasm approaches or occurs, it can make diaphragmatic spasm more likely. Breathe during sex.
