Dangers of NSAID's: Nasaid's can cause several problems, especially in the elderly. They can cause heart burn, nausea and vomiting. They also lead to salt and water retention making hypertension worse and they also make patients less responsive to ace-i and furosemide, a diuretic. They can also cause reversible, once they are stopped, renal failure. Consult with your doctor to see if you should be on them chronically.
