A member asked:

I know a friend that has series of blackout , when this occurs he is no longer himself for some few seconds. what could this be and it's there a cure?

Likely epilepsy: This may represent a complex partial seizure. The repetitive episodes could be of great risk, but can be controlled with modern medications. Need to have neurological consultation asap. In the meantime, no driving, use of power equipment, activities at heights.
