Deceased donor Trans: When transplant donation has been given, typically multiple organs are removed from the recently deceased donor. Frequently used are both kidneys and the liver. As valuable and often used are both lungs, the heart, pancreas, and small bowel. Less time critical organs during donation are bone, skin, and corneas. Organ donation really is the gift of life.

Kidney removal: Both kidneys are taken from a deceased person's body for donation, provided the kidneys are normal sized and appear to be healthy. This way they can be given to two separate people in need of them.
