A member asked:

Blood tests show low sugar and iron. have symptoms of ulcer. is this likely to be the cause?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Low sugar/iron: A gastric(stomach)ulcer can cause slow bleeding therefore loss of iron , some people may have multiple endocrine syndrome( men1) that causes tumors that secrete Insulin ( insulinoma) and others that secrete gastrin(gastrinoma) , consequently low sugar from too much Insulin and low iron from slow bleeding as a result of gastric ulcer, however low glucose and low iron may entirely be unrelated.
