Have it checked: Pain is often a red flag that something is wrong. An iud does not normally cause pain so the first step is to find out why you are having pain. See your doctor to make sure you do not have an infection and that the iud is properly placed. An ultrasound might reveal other causes of pain like fibroids, ovarian cysts, or endometriosis. Having more information will help you decide what to do.
