Fairly common : Having an irregular period periodically is not rare especially when you are young. I encourage patients to track their cycles over a few months before hitting the panic button. If you are sexually active you should be on birth control to prevent an unplanned pregnancy. This would also give you the added benefit of excellent menstrual cycle control.
