A member asked:

Why do people keep iron objects in the hands of epileptic seizure patients?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Superstition: There's no scientific basis for this superstitious practice, any more than the idea that having an iron horseshoe nailed over your door will bring good luck. Because iron is magnetic and durable, folks think it must have magical powers.
