What exactly is an unfavorable cervix?

Related to induction: It is a cervix that is not conducive to induction of labor. The more favorable the more likely your induction would be successful . It's based on assessment of different characteristics of your cervix by your doctor.

Low Bishop Score: As you get close to full term pregnancy, the cervix is assessed for 5 factors: dilation, effacement, firmness, position, and fetal station. Each factor gets scored, and the 5 are added together. 10 or better is considered favorable, and a patient has a very high chance of responding to oxytocin as an induction agent. Conservatively speaking, therefore, <10 is unfavorable.
