Low Bishop Score: As you get close to full term pregnancy, the cervix is assessed for 5 factors: dilation, effacement, firmness, position, and fetal station. Each factor gets scored, and the 5 are added together. 10 or better is considered favorable, and a patient has a very high chance of responding to oxytocin as an induction agent. Conservatively speaking, therefore, <10 is unfavorable.
