Vasa previa - should i insist on making sure it doesn't exist in my pregnancy?

Often missed: Vasa previa can be ruled out with a transabdominal ultrasound if the placental cord insertion site can be seen. Many routine scans do not look for this. But it is easy to identify. If it is an area of concern for you, your OB can tell you if it was looked at on your ultrasound.
