A member asked:

How much attention is there by patients to the pathologist diagnosing their case?

Unclear question: Pathologists usually communicate with the doctor taking care of the patient rather than the patient directly. Pathologists act as doctors to the doctors. A patient should feel free to ask their doctor to get a second pathology opinion if there is any doubt.

Very little : Rarely do I receive patient inquires regarding the pathologist working on biopsy type cases. Most of the time i receive inquiries about my qualifications and work experience is when families are requesting autopsy on their loved ones.
