Swelling, tingling: Various degrees of injury to muscle, veins and nerves can result in a spectrum of late symptoms from the original injury. Muscles can atrophy if the nerve injury is complete or chronic. Nerve injury can result in numbness, pain, and weakness long term or if completely disrupted, total loss of function. Venous injuries can result in chronic swelling due to a deficit of overall limb drainage.
