Positive pressure: There is no direct nerve connection between the nose and chest. However, when you blow your nose, you create positive pressure in the chest by increasing outflow resistance. To create this pressure your muscles between the ribs squeeze. Your pain is probably musculoskeletal. Having said that, if you have having chest pain, it's always good to see a doctor to rule out serious problems.
