No symptom No treat: 25-50% women develop benign uterine fibroid (muscle) tumors. If you don't have symptoms (heavy periods, pain) then no intervention is needed. If you do then many options exist to help improve them: myomectomy, hysterectomy (laparoscopic), uterine artery ablation, and hysteroscopic myomectomy.

Benign tumor: Fibroids are benign tumors in the uterus that typically affect women between 30 and 55 years of age. They are very common and are particularly prevalent in african-american women. Most people with fibroids do not have symptoms but they can cause heavy menstrual flow, pelvic pain, and increased urinary frequency. If you have no symptoms no treatment is necessary.
