Can dehydration cause constipation? i've been having symptoms of dehydration. i try to drink as much as i can, but it sometimes makes me nauseous.

Yes. : There are many potential causes of constipation, and inadequate water intake can lead to hard stools that are difficult to pass. If you are still constipated despite drinking plenty of water, a gentle stool softener such as docusate may be useful. A laxative such as MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) might be a reasonable next step and if still having problems, a visit to the doctor may be necessary. Good luck.
