Can a meningioma tumor in the brain be cancerous?

Dr. Gurmukh Singh
Pathology 49 years experience
Yes, uncommonly: Meningiomas can be invasive and have some of the characters of cancers. Most such tumors are not cancerous.
Dr. Abhineet Chowdhary
Neurosurgery 18 years experience
Yes but rare: Most meningiomas are benign but occasionally they can be malignant. An MRI can help predict this but only a tissue diagnosis can confirm this.
