Yes, uncommonly: Meningiomas can be invasive and have some of the characters of cancers. Most such tumors are not cancerous.

Yes but rare: Most meningiomas are benign but occasionally they can be malignant. An MRI can help predict this but only a tissue diagnosis can confirm this.
