Let me explain: Spooning occurs when the outer edges of the nail begin to curl up towards the top of the finger. In some cases, the spoon-like scoop formed by the curled nail may even be able to hold a drop of liquid. Spooning can be a sign of an iron deficiency. Since you have been bleeding heavy, check it out and treated.

None: If it is due to iron, then all the nails will be affected. See a gyn: this may be menopause, but serious conditions may present this way and prompt treatment could be very important. If your exams & tests indicate a benefit from iron your dr will instruct you.
