How late in a pregnancy can a woman safely fly?

6 months: I don't recommend pregnant women fly after the second trimester. Changes in air pressure can sometimes trigger labor . More importantly, some airlines will not allow women to board after the 6th month for fear of them going into labor or having other problems that would force them to have to make an emergency landing. Unless absolutely necessary, avoid flying after the 6th month.

That recommendation: will vary amongst providers. You just received a recommendation for no flights during the third trimester. Some indicate that if you are healthy with no significant pregnancy complictions that is usually safe up to 36 weeks. Airlines vary widely regarding their pregnancy policies. Some have no restrictions. Beginning at 28 weeks medical certificates may be required that need to be filled
