Doctor can evaluate: Anyone with "severe abdominal pain" should be evaluated by her doctor. The emergency room can evaluate severe pain, if the primary care or regular doctor is not able to help right away. Possible causes include appendicitis, kidney stones, obstructed kidney, twisted bowel, twisted ovary, etc... Severe pain is definitely not normal.
