A member asked:

If someone were to bend there knee and then try to straighten it and it gets stuck in the up position what does that mean? very painful throbbing

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Torn cartilage: A locked knee usually results from the loose edge of a torn cartilage getting between the articular surfaces. Usually, gently moving the knee will release it. If it is recurrent, it probably needs surgery.
