Titration to effect: Medications like Effexor (venlafaxine) are usually gradually titrated to effectiveness, and this differs between patients. Hopefully your depression and/or anxiety will decrease with a therapeutic dose, and you will not experience any problems with potential side effects with the medicine. Please talk with your doctor for anything you don't understand, and let him/her know about any concerns.

Probably not much...: If this person has been on 75mg for 12 weeks, and no response at all has been seen, it is worth going to higher doses, but 112.5mg daily is still a relatively modest dose. One might increase the dose by 37.5 mg, up to 112.5 mg for 4-7 days, ensure that it is well tolerated, and go to 150 mg.
