Yes: Different birth control methods certainly can, for example the Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) shot ---is Progesterone only. A patient may not resume ovulating after discontinuing this method for many months. Birth control pills vary in type, amount, of estrogen--if any. Progesterone pills vary also. Please remember, that just because you don't have a period, doesn't mean you can't get or aren't already pregnant.
