Bid is twice a day: Good question. Sometimes "doctor speak" is confusing. Ventolin is an inhaler and the hfa is the propellant in the inhaler. When using an inhaler, a person "inhales" the medication. I puff means pressing down on the top of the inhaler releasing 1 dose. Bid means use it twice a day. Montelukast is a pill that is taken once a day.
