Is it possible for a 3-4 months old infant to develop gout? diagnosis was based on presence of urine crystals in diaper. no family history of gout.

Unlikely.: Gout crystals need a microscope to b seen. Some sources say that if crystals persist for 4-5 days, infant may be dehydrated. Large white crystals found in diapers that r visible to naked eye r a product of the chemical that makes modern diapers “super-absorbent:” sodium polyacrylate. These polymer beads can leak out of lining if diaper very full or torn.

I suppose...: Anything is possible, but it's highly unlikely that it's related to gout. See a pediatric endocrinologist if you need a definitive diagnosis.
