It depends on which: Ligament you have injured. If you have torn your acl or patellar tendon typically that requires surgery. If you tore your mcl, PCL or lcl you can get away with pt and bracing and in time will improve. The exercise that is most important is one that involves quad strengthening. Leg lifts, leg extensions, squats, straight leg raisies will all help with this.
