It may: This is descriptive of post nasal drip. When in the oresence of nasal symptoms of congestion andnrunny nose, it can be due to nasal allergies. Without nasal symptoms, it can be secondary to acid reflux. A saline nasal wash may help but iltimately you may need a nasal steroid to help with the congestion. It's possible: Food allergies can lead to throat itching and swelling that may feel like a lump within minutes to hours after ingesting a food a person is allergic to. Other possibilities are post nasal drip from environmental allergies or possibly from sinus infection drainage. If symptoms improve with antihistamine that is suggestive of allergy. If persists or worsens, a doctor can help sort it out.
