Maybe: There are small hernias in the midline of the abdomen between the belly button and breast bone that can be very small and painful. They are however usually associated with a small lump under the skin, but may not be detectable due to obesity. See your doctor to check it out. May need an ultrasound or ct scan if it is severe, disabling pain. If it is a small hernia, it is probably not dangerous.
