Dr. Pam Yoder answered

Breastfeeding helps: The body of a woman who has delivered a baby changes in many ways. Some of those are permanent changes in the structure or function. But it might take a couple of months to get back into clothes (not shoes:/) worn before pregnancy. Breastfeeding helps with weight loss (but should not be done unwisely simply to lose pounds) postpartum exercise, if approved by ob, can be fun and helpful see my guide.
