Many: Warm sitz baths help. Witch hazel soaked cotton balls plastered to the anal area helps. Otc meds like preparation h helps. Keeping the bowel soft helps. Avoiding constipation or diarrhea helps. Anal fissures may need prescription meds and or surgery for treatment. Hemorrhoids usually are self limited but may need opening or surgery. See pcp or surgeon for eval.

See your doctor: These are different problems and treatment may also differ. Pain is common with fissure: increase water and fiber intake, use stool softener and sitz baths. Topical nitroglycerine or Diltiazem ointment helps heal fissure. Hemorrhoids don't cause pain unless thrombosed- a firm swelling on the outside of the anus. Fiber, fluids, sitz baths help. Most resolve on their own.
