It might. : Prednisone is a steroid. Chronic steroid use can lead to a bone condition called osteoporosis. This is the "brittle bone" disease. So , yes, in the "later years", if you develop osteoporosis as a result of chronic steroid use, it puts you (men and women) at high risk for fractures.
