Maybe...Maybe not: Destruction and damage to hair follicles due to trichotillomania (repeated hair pulling) typically causes permanent hair growth problems like poor (kinky) hair growth or no growth at all. Traction alopecia is the medical term for the permanent obliteration of the follicle. Hair quality improvement after pulling ceases will take up to a year. After that, transplants are needed to restore growth.
