Yes and no: Spotting is a common issue and moreso as a teenager when periods are first starting and later around menopause.These are times when the woman's body is more anovulatory (no egg being released) so the hormones are more out of balance.Spotting can also be common on birth control methods. If this is a change for you, however, it is good to consider checking with your provider to see if normal for you.
