It happens : Irregular periods are very common. Other than being annoying for you usually it is not a sign of something serious. Depending on your age and medical problems there are certain blood tests that can be done as well as a sonogram. Birth control pills can often regulate cycles. Woman who are done having children may consider an endometrial ablation.
