These viruses are called “variant viruses.” both swine and regular flu have similar clinical symptoms. Depending on local resources, some labs have ability to test for non-human influenza viruses. Wash hands: Stay away from people who are sick to avoid getting swine flu. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with warm water- often. Use hand sanitizer when this is not available. Avoid touching your mouth, nose or eyes until your hands have been properly cleaned.
