Generally safe: Amoxicillin is generally considered to be safe to use during pregnancy, even in the first trimester of pregnancy. This issue was specifically studied in a british study from 2004 who found that exposure to amoxycillin/clavulanic acid during pregnancy is unlikely to be associated with an increased risk of malformations.
