No: Osgood schlatters disease is associated with the tibial tubercle apophysis, or growth plate. In simple terms, the patella tendon inserts on this tibial tubercle, that is the bump just below the knee cap, where the tendon inserts to the lower leg. For teens, the force of the tendon pulling on the tubercle can cause some of the bone to avulse off the tubercle causing pain. There is no lab test.
