Unstable personality: Borderline personality disorder is typically diagnosed in late teens or early adulthood. It is characterized by a longstanding pattern of intense but unstable black-and-white relationships with others, along with poor self image; reckless and dangerous impulsivity such as drug abuse and risky sexual behaviors, and persistent problems with mood, including self-distructive behaviors.
