Plantar fasciitis: This is a common problem. It is typically self-limited. Pain is worse when first putting weight on the foot. First line treatment is to stretch the bottom of the foot with heel stretches. Shoes with good support is also helpful.

Spur - fasciitis: This could be plantar fasciitis or a heel spur or both. Therapy is directed to the heel: heel cups, heel pads, stretching, icing.

Plantar fascitiis: Is a common cause of heel pain. A foot doc could help if ice, antiinflammatories, an arch support and stretching don't offer any relief of symptoms.
