See MD or ER NOW: Could be any number of serious conditions, primarily affecting liver and/or secondarily affecting liver. Could be hepatitis (various infectious, drug, toxic, autoimmune, etc), infection, etc. Need urgent evaluation.

Liver tests: I hope you are asking this from your hospital bed. Elevated liver function tests could indicate hepatitis (drug, viral, alcohol) versus gallstone disease resulting in obstruction of the main liver outflow duct. Supportive care versus endoscopy to remove lodged stones will be necessary. Head to the er if you're still home, or call your doctor.
