My mother is 56 yr old, 117kg is her wght, she is diabetic type 2, is taking victoza (liraglutide) injection for weight loss and lanctus for diabts. r these meds safe?

Use them w caution: All meds have risks involved.For these they need to be taken at seperate times to avoid drop in sugar. Victoza (liraglutide) can slow emptying of stomach & affect absorbtion of meds taken orally. The bigger issue is weight reduction. Type 2 dm doesn't have to be a life long disease. Get her to a dr that practices wt mgmt med. Get the wt down and the dose of Insulin can come down=less req insulin=easier wt loss.
