6 weeks: The real answer is that any muscle injury take about 6 weeks to actually heal. This does not mean you cannot exercise for this long but with intense workouts/runs, you will likley reinjur it. I suggest cross training, massages and alot of stretching. There is also a machine called the alter g that, if you can find one, you may consider using to run on.
