How can i get rid of dry eye stringy mucus?

Iriritation: Stringy mucus is due to irritation causing dryness. Treatment includes initially artificial tear ( more viscous type like systane ultra), then have eyes evaluated to see if other agents/ treament will help. This includes the omegas by mouth or preservative lubricating drops and /or restasis.

Use lubricating drop: Use lubricating drops or artificial tears. Keep your hands away from your eyes. Try to blink a lot to help push the mucous down the normal tear drainage duct. Wiping it out with your fingers just irritates the eye more and makes more mucous.
