Try a decongestant: You may want to try a decongestant (orally or nasal spray) to help you breathe better. This can help decrease the swelling in your nose related to your cold. Be aware that the oral decongestant may increase your heart rate or blood pressure so if you have high blood pressure or heart issues, you should avoid this. Saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation may be helpful as well.
