Possibly deep: Several reasons -- you may have had a really deep cavity or crack. The dentist filled it but it might be close to the nerve. You may need root canal treatment or the tooth removed. Or the filling may not be level, and therefore you touch that tooth first and with more force than your other teeth when you bite together in chewing (the dentist needs to reduce the filling height). See your dentist.

Probably need root c: It should be confirmed by your dentist, but it sounds like you have an inflammation of the nerve inside that tooth and the only way to treat it would be to have a root canal done. If the cavity was very large, it is possible for that to happen. See a dentist.
